Steel Making plant consists of two general process units:
- Melting: In the first stage, DRI and scraps are charged into an electric arc furnace (EAF). It is melted with use of massive graphite electrodes, as soon as the melt temperature and the amount of its Carbon and Oxygen reaches a desirable range, the melt is poured into a ladle. Ladle is transferred to Ladle furnace in order to prepare the melt for continuous casting.
- Casting: After preparation of the desired melt, the ladle is placed on the turret using a crane. Then melt is poured into the copper molds via a container called tundish. Melt solidifies in 6 strands of continuous casting machine (CCM) making a rectangular cross section using water spray equipment, and at the end of each line the product is cut with desired length for the downstream factories.
The aim of this project is to develop and modernize Khatoon Abad Copper Smelting Plant with a production capacity of 120,000 tons of anode copper per year.
The aim of this project is to build a lime plant for producing Quicklime (150 TDP) and a hydration plant for producing Hydrated Lime (10 TPH) in Azarbaijan province.
